Tucked away in the rural town of Melville, the Crazy D Lodge is your ultimate Big Sky Country escape. Set atop a hill in the midst of an 8000-acre cattle ranch, the lodge combines the privacy of a remote ranch with an idyllic setting to gather, unplug, and reconnect with the natural world.
At nearly 12,000 square feet, this beautiful 3-story log lodge has ample space for families, friends, and business groups alike to come together under one roof. Just a 90-minute drive from both the Bozeman and Billings airports, the Crazy D Lodge an ideal destination for friends and family to converge. The lodge contains five generous and versatile sleeping areas (with private baths), a large open kitchen, dual fire places, a pool table, private bar, and plenty of communal spaces. Large windows and numerous outdoor patios make the lodge a perfect place to enjoy the panoramic and breathtaking views of the Crazy and Absaroka Mountains in the distance!
The ground level of the lodge includes three generous bedrooms—each with private en-suite baths. Additionally, there is a pool table, sitting area, laundry facilities, mud room, and garage. The mid-level is the main living area and boasts an open kitchen, dual fireplace, dining area, library nook, and large multi-room master suite. The master suite features cathedral windows with views of the Crazy Mountains, in addition to a walk-in closet and generous bathroom suite with jetted tub perfect for relaxing after a long day of play. The suite has two additional sleeping areas, allowing it to accommodate a small family or close groups of friends. The kitchen is fully-equipped with commercial-grade appliances, a large counter area, and walk-in pantry with an extra fridge and freezer.
The open concept allows one to whip up a delicious meal while still being able to engage with the larger group, while the library nook and dual fireplaces in the living room offer space to relax with a book or a glass of wine! The upper level is a true highlight—featuring large windows that offer panoramic views of the mountains on each side. The large great room with comfy couches, large fireplace, and wet bar make this the perfect place to entertain. This level also contains a fifth bedroom with private bath and loft that can accommodate another small family or group.
Situated in the midst of an 8,000-acre conservation-oriented, working cattle ranch, the surrounding land is home to numerous species including deer, antelope, turkeys, birds of prey, and more! No traffic can be heard from the ranch—simply the howl of a distant coyote and the hoot of an owl in your backyard! Enjoy an evening walk or a day of canoeing and fishing on the private Upper Glaston Lake. Birders will delight at the assortment of water fowl found along the various ranch waterways. The town of Big Timber is just 20 miles down the road, providing a variety of shops and restaurants within easy reach. The Crazy D Lodge is rural, yet close enough to the highway, that guests can enjoy a day trip to Livingston, Bozeman, or Yellowstone’s north entrance (approximately two hours away). There is plenty to explore just beyond the back door!
