Our cattle are raised on thousands of acres of pristine Montana pasture land without the use of hormones, antibiotics or feedlots. Because they are grass-fed and finished, their meat is high in healthy Omega-3 fatty acids and low in potentially harmful Omega-6’s, which are elevated in corn-fed beef.
The best of our steers and spayed heifers are kept until they are at the perfect point of tenderness and tastiness. They are then processed and dry aged by local facilities that are certified by state and federal agencies. The processors we use are all very well respected for their humane animal handling practices. Consistently treating our cattle in a stress-free, humane manner contributes to the delicious taste of our beef and the health of our cattle.
Our holistic approach to raising sustainably produced natural beef takes into account the importance of:
- Sustaining ranching as an industry and way of life
- Sustaining local communities
- Land management and land quality
- Preserving the environment and corridors of wildlife
- Connecting with our consumers
- Connecting with the land
- Humane treatment of ALL animals, livestock and wildlife
- Nourishing the body, mind and soul
- Preserving the best of many old-fashioned techniques to produce top quality and safe food
Together with a few of our neighbors, we sell J Bar L beef under the Centennial Natural Beef brand to J Bar L guests, local restaurants and quality retailers. We also sell our beef by the whole, half or quarter animal, cut as the customer likes and bundled with a collection of scrumptious recipes. Please call or email us today if you are interested in purchasing Centennial Natural Beef by the J-L ranch or if you have any questions.
