Perfecting our Horsemanship and Roping Skills
Recently the J Bar L cowboys participated in a ranch roping clinic put on by ranch roping specialist and clinician Kip Fladland. Kip has over 27 years of experience, of which 5 were exclusively working with world renown clinician Buck Brannaman. Spring Fish the Big Hole
Spring fishing on the Big Hole is incredible. April and May are some of our very favorite months to be on the Big Hole. It is rare to see other anglers and the fish are fresh out of their winter slumbers. The rainbows and browns are voraciously hungry and far less choosey with their diets. Nymph and streamer fishing is the norm and 30+ fish days are common. There are also those incredible days when the Skwala stones or BWO's are hatching and the fish make their first appearances to the surface. It is really hard to beat a warm spring day on the river!
